If you really love seafood.. Talk to Crystal

Since Tsukiji opened in HK, it has been one of my favorited restaurant for fresh sushi and seafood. I went there every time I went back to HK to visit my family, but I didn’t know people could order live seafood from the market counter and have the sushi chef prepare and serve them in the restaurant. I did just that the last time. Crystal, the lady who works at the live seafood counter knows her stuff. She recommended the flying fish for sashimi, huge prawns for amaebi, live scallop for sashimi, and live miniature crabs to deep fried. The meal was delicious! If you go there, ask for Crystal, and she’ll make sure you get the freshest seafood available. Note: live seafood is not cheap so expect to pay premium prices for it. But if you are really into excellent raw Japanese sushi and sashimi, it’s worth it.

Feels like home

Have been coming here for years and never been disappointed. The sushi menu is extensive, so it satisfies all different kinds of cravings! The owners are also super friendly and fun to chat with. I never miss an opportunity to come here whenever I’m back in Hong Kong. Nothing bad to say about this place, just don’t expect a fancy sushi bar. This is a no frills wonderful hole-in-a-wall!

Best all you can eat and drink deal in Hong Kong

I sat and enjoyed my Japanese beer with my seafood, plate after plate after bottle after bottle. I thought it be such a great experience. I liked the fact that you can order off a menu and have it delivered to your table, rather than going to a buffet spread. I found everything that I ordered tasted fresh and flavorful. With your all you can eat, the drink selection is great, Imported Japanese Beer, sake, soft drinks, you name it.

Great Food @ Reasonable Prices in Central

My regular sushi place in HK. Run by a husband and wife team (Ken and Elaine), they do not have exotic sashimi offering but the food is always fresh and value for money. The owners will chat with you and advise you on the day’s best catches. Try the special sashimi rice bowl, sea urchin on seaweed, beef rolled with banana and tempura prawn handroll. Best time to go is during dinner as the lunch crowd can be overwhelming
